2014 Spring and Summer Events are Blossoming!

Sun 13th April 2014, 3-9pm
Spring Forage, Cook & Dine

Come and Enjoy Seasonal Foraging & Feasting at its Best! Adults £50, under 16′s £20

The first of our Forage, Cook & Dine events with Rachel Lambert, Cornwall’s Wild Food Guru!

Spring is a key time for wild food foraging as we hit the “hungry gap” when winter cultivated veg are coming to an end, and this year’s sowings have still got some growing to do before we can eat them. But wild foods are now abundant. In the woodland there is wild garlic, wood sorrel and primroses, while in the hedgerows there is plenty of succulent pennywort, alexander shoots and hedge bedstraw.
Come along and learn how to identify the plants and understand their qualities. Then enjoy a practical cooking session with recipe sheets and ideas for using them in the kitchen, both alone and incorporated with garden produce. Then let’s sit down to a delicious banquet of four courses, accompanied by Cotna cider and preserves!

‘I’ve had such an amazing day, I can’t believe how much I learnt’

‘It’s felt like such a treat, great people and food too – nourishment for the soul’

‘It’s just like River Cottage but more personal!’

‘I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and the amazing meal at the end of it was the icing on the cake! I shall thoroughly recommend it to others. Cotna is such a beautiful little gem’

‘Great people, great place, great food!’

‘It was wonderful to be given the opportunity to learn Yoga with a real Indian Yogi here in Gorran.  He transformed the barn at Cotna into a little piece of Kerala.  The calming, peaceful atmosphere and intense daily yoga practice left me feeling invigorated and energised. Although I have been practicing yoga for over 25 years this has been the inspiration I have needed to start working on a regular daily basis at home and I am already noticing the benefits.’ (Lynne Gouldsmith)
