Cotna Holiday Yurts

“Many thanks for an inspiring, nourishing, beautiful and peaceful place to stay. Lots of lovely touches, charm and enchantment – from an Easter full moon to a vast field of stars; sunsets and big skies; dawn choruses; strange feral sounds in the night; funny visitors; friendly wwoofers and a warm welcome. May we take a piece of sustaining peace back with us. Long may Cotna continue and flourish!” (Kevon, Somerset)

The only Yurts on the South Coast of Cornwall!   Cornish Gilliflower (16′) , and Tregonna King (18′) are both named after Cornish apple varieties growing in our orchards . Gilliflower is up from March – October while Tregonna King is available all year round, along with our lovely strawbale barn which is ideal for tranquil & cosy winter breaks.

Location: The two yurt orchards are contained by ancient Cornish stone walls, oak and hazel woodland, a running stream with watercress and coloured willow plantings. These magical & secluded surroundings make it an ideal place for retreats and quiet holidays – for individuals, couples or small groups of friends and family. Both yurts can Tregonna King can accommodate 2-4 people.

Gilliflower (16’) has a light and airy modern feel with bright primary colours; Turkish Killim rugs, Indian prints, a beautiful antique Mongolian tension band around the circumference and a handcrafted Breton bed. The effective stove heats the yurt through spring, summer and autumn. From the door which overlooks our woods you can birdwatch and listen to the hooting of owls at night-time. Book Gilliflower Yurt here.

Tregonna King (18’) is  more Moroccan boutique style with its north african rugs, silks and stripped furniture. It is nestled in the corner of its own large & sheltered  willow lined field. Like Gilliflower it has an effective stove and warm bedding with all kitchen equipment is provided. Book Tregonna King Yurt here.

Both yurts have solar lighting and comfortable warm shower and compost loos nearby. There is a kitchen and eco-recycling shed with washing up facilities outside. There is plenty of space in both fields for additional tents, and picnic tables outside each yurt.

In addition to our welcome hamper of firewood, flowers and Cotna food taster, we provide tea & sugar, seasoning, herbs & spices and eco washing up liquid. Our organic eggs, fruit & veg is for sale and sourdough bread baked to order. Delicious meals can be provided on request. There is a local shop nearby to buy basic food, and Lobbs Farm Shop for organic West Country food.
