Cotna Barton is a wonderfully unique place, a diverse 14-acre smallholding set in its own valley just 2 miles from the sea on the Roseland Peninsula. It is a small-scale working organic farm, with accommodation in the form of a beautifully converted straw-bale barn & two new yurts.

The Yurts are each set in their own secluded fields in the valley, next to wild hazel & oak woodland and streams. The Straw Bale Barn looks out over the apple orchard and natural ponds, with the vegetable gardens & productive polytunnels below.

The philosophy of Cotna is to develop a local, low-impact and sustainable way of life, producing green energy, delicious fruit, vegetables & preserves – seasonal & chemical-free – for the local community. The energy & facilities include a wind-turbine, solar panels, outdoor eco compost loos and bikes to borrow.

Cotna is a truly  inspiring & beautiful place and we are keen to share our experience of the setting & the lifestyle with others. This may be through visiting on holiday or retreat, taking part & learning through courses such as wild food foraging, dowsing or green-building, or becoming more involved through wwoofing & other forms of volunteering.

The location is ideal, on the unspoilt Roseland Peninsula, near to The Lost Gardens of Heligan and Eden Project. It is equal distance from the sea at Gorran Haven, Port Mellon & Mevagissey, with easy access to the lovely local beaches and South West Coast Path .
